Mosquito Fumigation

Update Following Heavy Rainfall

Routine fumigation to protect against mosquito infestation will take place throughout the summer. Please close windows and remove any clothes drying on the balconies when in progress.

We propose the following programme of work:

  • Roof drainage: We will engage a specialist drainage company to clear and inspect the roof drainage systems on all three blocks. Cameras will be used where appropriate to identify any restrictions, damage or other issues that could prevent water from draining away quickly during very heavy rainfall.

  • Block 7 roof: Remedial work has already been carried out. This included sealing vulnerable areas where the roof surface meets the walls, removing plant growth that could affect watertightness or drainage, repointing areas where required, and replacing loose or damaged tiles.

  • Block 8 roof: We will carry out a similar inspection and programme of remedial work on Block 8, addressing any obvious areas of vulnerability.

  • Block 9 ground-floor foyer: We plan to investigate the installation of an additional drain at ground level to provide an effective route for water accumulating in this area during exceptionally heavy rain.

  • Independent roof inspection: Identifying the exact source of a roof leak can be extremely difficult, particularly where large quantities of water are standing on a roof. We therefore intend to engage an experienced roofing company to inspect the roofs of all three blocks and advise us on the most appropriate long-term approach.
